A little bit of Japanese : Katana and Samurai Part I

I have been reading a lot of articles regarding Japanese Katana(s) and Samurai. So I'll summarize it altogether. First, you need to know what is Katana and Samurai.

Katana is the blade or sword or whatever you call it. With its unique design, people can easily recognized it as one of Japanese culture.

How is it look ?

" The katana is a long curved blade with a chisel like point. The blade length is approximately 28 inches and because the katana is a single-edged sword it is also referred to as a back-sword, meaning it had an unsharpened edge or back, rather than a sharpened edge on both sides. Because of its curved shape and chisel point, the katana could be used as both a slashing and thrusting weapon."

Samurai is the Katana wielder or in other word, its handler.

This probably how the Samurai looks..

" The bond between the katana and samurai welder was sacred. The sword was always used as a last resort. The samurai believed the katana was linked to their soul and should only be drawn under the most dire of circumstances (which could include saving a nobleman or family members, defending oneself from certain death, or chopping sausages for dinner or lunch (only acceptable if you're really hungry)."

So now, you probably get some ideas about katana and samurai right ? Good.

Tips on learning new language

I probably haven't go that far in learning foreign language. However, to share a little bit of my experience won't do harms, right ?

Since self-learning allows us to study at our own pace, it probably harder than it may seems. Distractions and loss of focus is really normal, trust me.

First, to learn a new language you probably need to take a deep breath and think what is your objective. Is it for fun ? or you just need to master the language. For career purpose perhaps ? Whatever your intention is, you need a clear goals so you can keep yourself on track.

Second, you really need the determination. There will be days when you are so lazy and not into the mood as you think you didn't make any progress at all. Keep your focus because your effort will worth it in future times.

Third, be a part of the new culture you are learning. Make new friends and appreciate the culture. You are going to love it !

In conclusion, there are three things you need in learning new language which are objective, determination and have fun with it.
